Eastman was founded in January 2010 to produce and tour the work of artistic director/choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. His artistic approach is based on non-hierarchical thinking about movement, body language and culture. Under the wings of Eastman, Cherkaoui has created Babel(words), Play, Rein, TeZukA, Puz/zle, 4D and Fractus V, among others. Moreover, Eastman is the focal point for all the work Cherkaoui creates, encompassing a wide range of projects and collaborations ranging from contemporary dance to theater, ballet, opera, musical and other performance forms. Eastman operates out of Antwerp and is in residence at deSingel International Arts Campus.
